Synopsis

Fiona sings in a small inn on the Scottish coast to entertain the local fishermen with traditional songs. A visitor tells her she could be a singing star if she would practice and sing modern songs, but she is put off by his tactless approach. He is in town to buy any old boat that happens to be owned by Fiona since the death of her father. The man buys the boat and uses it to set up a pirate radio station. When he broadcasts a recording of her singing, agents seek her out. She leaves the small town and becomes a successful singer.
