Synopsis

Eve, a hat-check girl at a country club, steps out for some fresh air and notices a girl who seems to be waiting for someone by the fountain. Due to the sad look on her face, Eve asks the girl if she is all right. The girl then tells her of her first dance there five years ago. She had fallen in love that night with a man who was going in the navy and wouldn't be back for five years, but had promised to meet her at the same spot in five years. Now it is two hours past the time when he said he would be there and the girl thinks her dream is over.
