Synopsis
In post-war France, Gisele falls in love with Charles, a fellow employee at a small newspaper. Charles says he loves her but can never marry, because he must care for his invalid mother. However, Charles’ sister says her mother is just neurotic. After Charles is badly injured in a fire, his mother forgets her own imagined troubles to help him recover, and then blesses the forthcoming marriage of Charles and Gisele.
