This comic is included with The Batman Vault (Running Press Book Publishers, 2009) as an insert labeled "How to Draw Batman Booklet (1978)." According to information in The Batman Vault, the original was sent in 1978 to then Batman editor Paul Levitz by Sheldon Mayer during a disagreement over Levitz's decission to have a continuing storyline run between Batman and Detective Comics.
