Synopsis
Monica believes “being beautiful is everything,” and sees no need to prepare herself for marriage otherwise. She dates Paul but he’s disappointed at her lack of cultural knowledge. They’re later trapped in a cabin during a storm: Paul is injured and Monica is helpless at first aid or cooking. The next time Monica sees Paul, he’s dating Caroline, who is “plain.” Paul tells Monica “you’re beautiful but useless.” Monica learns to cook and sew, and is reunited with Paul.
