Synopsis

A vampire jealous of his brother's prowess bargains with a witch to kill him. He is gleeful when he returns to his parents with the news his brother has been slain, thinking their attention will focus only on him. They burst into tears stating they have lost two sons this night. They explain that a blood disorder causes him to need more blood than usual and his brother was strong enough to provide transfusions while he slept, not wanting him to feel like an invalid. Out of shame the vampire kills himself with a tree limb.
