Synopsis

Carol takes the job of librarian in the small town of Hollisville. She’s warned that her private life must be exemplary. Carol dates handsome Andrew and is also the object of the romantic advances of bank president and library board chairman Victor. Victor says Andrew is a drunkard and Carol must break up with him to save her job. Carol does, but also rejects Victor’s marriage proposal, so he sends two thugs to wreck the library. Andrew proves Victor is to blame. Andrew is not a drunk, but a doctor testing a drug to cure alcoholism. Andrew and Carol reconcile.
