Star Raiders is trademarked to Atari Inc., and is a follow-up to The Atari Force. This material was originally intended for video game inserts, similar to the Atari Force inserts. When the video game market crashed in 1983 it was converted into this graphic novel.

One example on eBay was found with a sticker on the back cover with an ISBN of 0-930289-02-1. All the other dozens of copies for auction at this writing that show the back cover do not feature this sticker or adhesive residue.
