This comic was released to promote the game Chex Quest HD which was made available for free on Steam. A digital version of the issue was released on Comixology and Amazon with a different cover that attributes the comic to Chex Mix Comics Group and has a cover copyright dated 1996. 1996 is the year the original Chex Quest game was released as a CD-ROM in specially marked boxes of Chex cereal. The digital version was also available for download as .PDF and CBZ files at General Mills's ChexMix website.
