Synopsis
Unmarried Ellen lives with her older sister, her husband, and their teenage daughter Beverly. She does the household chores and cooking, without pay. Ellen dates new arrival Roger but Beverly tries to cut in. Ellen receives a small inheritance and uses it for a makeover; she also moves into her own apartment. Ellen and Roger reconcile.
