Synopsis
After driving rustlers away from the Lathrop ranch, the Black Rider confides to Bobby Lathrop the origin of how Matt Masters became the Black Rider. Matt's father was killed by rustlers when he was young. He avenged his father, and grew up to became a doctor. 'Doc' Masters must later take the alias of Black Rider, when he the Lathrop family is faced with the menace of Blast Burrows rustlers. Marie Lathrop cannot tolerate Doc Masters unwillingness to fight back, but deeply admires the Black Rider's courage.
