Synopsis

Louise’s father drinks to escape the nagging of his wife Agnes. He’s hit by a car and dies, leaving Louise as her mother’s target. Agnes becomes successful in business. She hires Lance, whom she thinks would be a good husband for Louise. Louise loves Lance but fears he’s marrying her for financial reasons so she runs away. She moves into the Stone household: after a near-fatal accident, Agnes and Lance visit her in the hospital and vow to change.
