Synopsis

Believing the Pitt to have been the work of foreign paranormal terrorists, President Reagan re-institutes the draft. Keith Remsen, his powers known to the U.S. government, is 20 years old at the time and is among the early draftees. He is made a lieutenant and placed in charge of performing psychiatric evaluations on draftees. He is responsible for determining their mental stability and evaluating their combat potential. Various paranormals are brought to Fort Benning for basic training as part of the Army's paranormal fighting force. Keith Remsen evaluates Private Harlan Mook, who has the power to teleport causing a devastating explosion at the point of teleportation. Remsen feels Mook might be unstable, but also thinks that the Nightmask persona's erratic behavior might have just unnerved him. He decides to pass Mook through. Mook is teased by Pit Bull until he fights back and uses his teleportation power. Sergeant Haldeman, the paranormals' drill instructor, puts Mook in solitary confinement for using his power. In the box, Mook loses his mind and decides to assassinate President Reagan as he gives a televised speech in Atlanta. Mook teleports behind Reagan, then teleports out. In the aftermath of the explosion in Atlanta, it is revealed, on national television, that President Reagan is a paranormal with the ability to regenerate physical damage.
