Synopsis

After a quarrelsome evening with her fiancé, Maxine is walking home by the river when she sees a man fall from the bridge. An expert swimmer, she jumps in and pulls him out. The man begs her not to tell anyone and she grudgingly agrees to let him stay in her flat because she feels responsible for him. He continues to play on her emotions and she finds it hard to get rid of him. Eventually she discovers that he was sent to town to represent his father at a business conference and had simply fallen off the bridge instead of trying to commit suicide. He lied about this to learn more about her.
