Synopsis

Stella worked as a salesgirl in the fashion department of Lethaby's stores, but dreams of having a more glamorous career. When there is a fire at the store, she is saved by the store detective. He falls in love with her, but she is determined to be a career girl. She gets a job working for a fashion magazine in London, but is disillusioned with her menial status. When the firm's whizz-kid hotshot, a man with a shady reputation, romances her and offers her a chance to be his secretary in Paris, she accepts.
