- Classics Illustrated #49— The first painted cover for Alice in Wonderland was produced in England and first published by Thorpe & Porter on the British edition of the story. This painted cover was then used for other European editions in 1955 and 1956 and finally used for the HRN 155 American reprint in 1960.
