Synopsis

Catherine spends more delightful hours with the Tilneys, though John and Isabella plot to monopolize her time for themselves. Isabella confesses to Catherine that she is engaged to James, though various obstacles stand in their way. Catherine receives an invitation to accompany the Tilneys back to Northanger Abbey, their country estate, for an extended visit. However, she is shocked when Isabella tells her that John Thorpe has come to consider himself practically engaged to Catherine.
