Synopsis
When Jo wins a beauty contest, she uses her prize money to buy a ticket to leave England and head to Hollywood with her friend, Peg. Once there, her ambition causes her to use people to get a start at an acting career. She gets her shot, but the director realizes she doesn't have the talent to be an actress and coaches her enough to give a tolerable performance. She falls in love with the director, but feels it is hopeless since he knows how she has used people to get where she is.
