About Rebellion

Rebellion is not primarily a comics publisher. It was founded in Oxford in 1992 by the brothers Jason and Chris Kingsley to make video games, and still does — the Sniper Elite series is theirs.

In 2000 it bought 2000 AD, the weekly British anthology that had been running Judge Dredd since 1977 and had trained most of a generation of British creators before they left for American work. Rebellion has kept it weekly.

It has since acquired the archives of Fleetway and IPC, which amount to most of Britain's twentieth-century comics output, and has been bringing that material back into print through the Treasury of British Comics.
