The cover masthead shows: Special Album Edition: The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu. The cover price indicia also shows: The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu with a small image of Shang Chi. The indicia clarifies this particular publication as: Kung Fu Special, Vol. 1, 1974 published by Magazine Management Co., Inc. The text "Vol. 1, No. 1 Summer, 1974" is printed at the top of the contents page, but is not included in the indicia. On-sale date from Comic Reader (Street Enterprises, 1973 series) #108, July 1974, which also notes cover month as September.
