Synopsis
Mr. Anthony tells a father and daughter the story of Cathy, daughter of an immigrant coal miner who betrothed her to fellow miner Jorge even though she loved Paul. Jorge threatens to kill Paul unless Cathy marries him. However, when Paul saves the lives of Jorge, Cathy’s father, and other men during a mine disaster, he earns the right to marry Cathy. Mr. Anthony’s clients agree marriage for love, not arranged marriages, is the “American way.”
