Featured in the 2005 mini-series, Villains United, this group of super-villains was originally gathered together by Alexander Luthor Jr. of Earth-Three. He impersonated the Lex Luthor of New Earth, and told the villains that he intended to build a machine to wipe the minds of the super-heroes, but in reality he was building a machine to recreate the Multiverse.
